A LUT (look-up table) is a color preset for video. You drop it onto a clip and it applies a finished look in one click, instead of building contrast, saturation and tone from scratch.

Ypresets LUTs come out of real grading on travel, landscape, aerial, automotive and commercial work, so they are built for footage people actually shoot, not a lab chart.

It is meant to. Log keeps more highlight and shadow detail so you can grade it later. Drop the matching LUT on and it becomes a finished Rec.709 image.

No. A filter sits on top of an image that is already finished. Our LUTs start from your Log profile (Apple Log, D-Log M, D-Log or D-Log 2) and include the conversion, so the result is not deep fried.

The iPhone Apple Log LUTs are for Apple Log and Apple Log 2 on iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. They take that flat, gray Log image and turn it into a clean cinematic Rec.709 look. They will not work on normal iPhone video, because that footage is already colored in camera.

The iPhone Cinematic LUTs are for everyday iPhone video. Any iPhone, including a Pro that you did not put into Log. They soften that harsh digital look and give you a film-inspired grade without needing Pro settings.

The Osmo Cinematic LUTs are for handheld DJI Osmo cameras shooting D-Log M, D-Log or D-Log 2, including Osmo Pocket 3, Pocket 4, Pocket 4P, Action 4, 5 Pro and 6, Osmo Nano and Osmo 360. Shooting from a drone? Get the Drone pack instead.

The Drone Cinematic LUTs are made for DJI aerial footage and include LUTs for both D-Log and D-Log M. They cover Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Classic, Mavic 3 Pro, Mavic 3 Cine, Mavic 4 Pro, Air 3, Air 3S, Mini 4 Pro, Mini 5 Pro, Avata 2 and other DJI drones that shoot those profiles. Just use the LUTs that match the profile you shot.

Look at the footage, not the name on the back of the phone. A Pro can shoot either profile. If the clip is flat, gray and low contrast, it is Apple Log and you want the Apple Log pack. If it already looks like a normal, colorful iPhone video, you want the Cinematic pack. Same rule for 15 Pro, 17 Pro and 18 Pro.

No. Those LUTs expect a flat Log image. Normal iPhone video already has contrast and color baked in, so the grade will look wrong. If you did not turn Log on, or you are not on a Pro model, use the Cinematic pack.

No. They are built for standard, already-processed iPhone video. Putting them on Log usually looks too contrasty or off.

No. You can record Apple Log in ProRes or HEVC (H.265). The color result is the same. Use whichever your workflow and storage can handle.

If you only shoot handheld Osmo footage (Pocket, Action, Nano or 360), the Osmo pack is all you need. If you only fly, get the Drone pack, which has LUTs for both D-Log and D-Log M. If you shoot both, use the Osmo pack for your handheld clips and the Drone pack for your aerial clips, because each one is tuned for that camera’s footage. Editing in DaVinci Resolve? Color Lab includes both packs in one plugin.

DJI’s free LUTs convert your Log footage to Rec.709 and stop there, and a lot of Osmo and drone shooters find them too contrasty, with crushed shadows. Ours include the conversion plus a finished look, with separate LUTs for each profile.

No. D-Log 2 is a different curve, so it gets its own LUTs. The Osmo Cinematic LUTs include 10 dedicated D-Log 2 LUTs for Pocket 4P. No DJI drone records D-Log 2, so the Drone pack covers D-Log and D-Log M.

No. Every Ypresets LUT already includes the Rec.709 conversion, so apply it straight onto your Log footage. Don't add a separate Apple Log to Rec.709 conversion first, or the image will look too contrasty and oversaturated. For iPhone, apply it directly to Apple Log footage. For Osmo, apply it to D-Log M or D-Log (or D-Log 2 on Osmo Pocket 4P). For drones, apply it to D-Log or D-Log M. Then adjust intensity to taste.

Unzip the download first, then load the .cube files into your app. Our LUT installation guide has step-by-step instructions for DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, CapCut desktop, Photoshop, LumaFusion, VN and Blackmagic Cam, plus which LUT to use for your footage.

Anything that can load a .cube file. On desktop that includes DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and CapCut desktop. On iPhone, Blackmagic Cam is the one we recommend for shooting and monitoring (you can bake the LUT in, or only use it as a preview). LumaFusion, VN, VideoLUT, LUT Studio and PeekLUT all work for editing. CapCut mobile can’t load .cube files, so use CapCut desktop or one of the editors above. Your call, in Blackmagic Cam. Display LUT previews the look while you shoot and records clean Log, so you can grade later. Record LUT to Clip bakes it in for a quick turnaround. A baked-in LUT can’t be undone, so keep clean Log for anything important.

They are designed to look good the moment you apply them, and most people only make small tweaks after that. Every scene is a bit different, so you may still want to touch exposure, white balance, saturation or shadows. Think of the LUT as getting you most of the way there, then you finish it to taste.

If you shot the profile the pack is made for, it should land close. Two things make the difference: exposure and white balance. Get those right, drop the LUT, then set the intensity to taste.

Set white balance first. That is what keeps skin from going orange or gray. Some looks are stylized on purpose, so for faces pick a cleaner look or pull the intensity back.

Yes. You can use them on your own projects and on paid client work. Personal videos, commercial jobs, YouTube, Instagram, films, whatever you are shooting. You do not need to buy a second license.

What you cannot do is share, transfer or resell the actual LUT files. The download is licensed to you. You cannot pass it on to a friend, drop it in a shared drive, or sell it as your own pack. That breaks our terms and it is copyright infringement. Use the LUTs in as many videos as you like. Do not give the files away.
