Video LUTs
What are LUTs?
A LUT (look-up table) is a colour preset for video. You drop it onto a clip and it applies a finished look in one click, instead of building contrast, saturation and tone from scratch.
Yantastic LUTs come out of Peter Yan’s real grading on travel, landscape, aerial, automotive and commercial work, so they are built for footage people actually shoot, not a lab chart.
What types of LUTs do you offer?
The iPhone Apple Log LUTs are for Apple Log and Apple Log 2 on iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. They take that flat, grey Log image and turn it into a clean cinematic Rec.709 look. They will not work on normal iPhone video, because that footage is already coloured in camera.
The iPhone Cinematic LUTs are for everyday iPhone video. Any iPhone, including a Pro that you did not put into Log. They soften that harsh digital look and give you a film-inspired grade without needing Pro settings.
The Osmo Cinematic LUTs are for DJI D-Log M, D-Log and D-Log 2. They are built first for Osmo Pocket 3, Pocket 4, Pocket 4P and Action 4, 5 Pro and 6. They also work on drones that record those same profiles, but if the clip is from a drone you will get a better result with the Drone pack.
The Drone D-Log LUTs are made for DJI aerial footage in D-Log and D-Log M, including Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Classic, Mavic 3 Pro, Mavic 3 Cine, Mavic 4 Pro, and other DJI drones that shoot those profiles.
I have an iPhone 16 Pro. Which pack do I need?
Look at the footage, not the name on the back of the phone. A Pro can shoot either profile. If the clip is flat, grey and low contrast, it is Apple Log and you want the Apple Log pack. If it already looks like a normal, colourful iPhone video, you want the Cinematic pack. Same rule for 15 Pro, 17 Pro and 18 Pro.
Do the Apple Log LUTs work on normal iPhone videos?
No. Those LUTs expect a flat Log image. Normal iPhone video already has contrast and colour baked in, so the grade will look wrong. If you did not turn Log on, or you are not on a Pro model, use the Cinematic pack.
Do the iPhone Cinematic LUTs work on Apple Log?
No. They are built for standard, already-processed iPhone video. Putting them on Log usually looks too contrasty or off.
Do I need to shoot ProRes for the Apple Log pack?
No. You can record Apple Log in ProRes or HEVC (H.265). The colour result is the same. Use whichever your workflow and storage can handle.
I have an Osmo and a drone. Do I need both packs?
If you only grade Pocket or Action footage, the Osmo pack is enough. If you mainly fly, get the Drone pack. If you do both, the nicer result is Osmo for the handheld cameras and Drone for the aerial clips. The Osmo LUTs will still run on drone D-Log M, D-Log and D-Log 2 if that is what you already own. They are just not the best match for aerial footage.
Do I need to convert to Rec.709 before I apply the LUT?
For Osmo and Drone, no. Apply the LUT straight onto D-Log, D-Log M or D-Log 2, then adjust intensity if you want. For Apple Log, the LUTs are designed to take you from that flat Log image to a cinematic Rec.709 look in one step.
Which apps and editors support these LUTs?
Anything that can load a .cube file. On desktop that includes DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and CapCut desktop. On iPhone, Blackmagic Camera is the one we recommend for shooting and monitoring (you can bake the LUT in, or only use it as a preview). LumaFusion, VideoLUT, LUT Studio and PeekLUT all work for editing. CapCut mobile and VN mobile cannot load .cube files, so use the desktop versions of those apps, or one of the editors above.
Are the LUTs one-click?
They are designed to look good the moment you apply them, and most people only make small tweaks after that. Every scene is a bit different, so you may still want to touch exposure, white balance, saturation or shadows. Think of the LUT as getting you most of the way there, then you finish it to taste.
Can I use the LUTs on paid or client work?
Yes. You can use them on your own projects and on paid client work. Personal videos, commercial jobs, YouTube, Instagram, films, whatever you are shooting. You do not need to buy a second licence.
What you cannot do is share, transfer or resell the actual LUT files. The download is licensed to you. You cannot pass it on to a friend, drop it in a shared drive, or sell it as your own pack. That breaks our terms and it is copyright infringement. Use the LUTs in as many videos as you like. Do not give the files away.
FAQ
Lightroom Presets
What are Lightroom presets?
Lightroom is Adobe’s photo editor. Presets are saved edit settings you apply to a photo in one click, instead of starting from scratch every time.
Yantastic presets come from Peter Yan’s (@yantastic) own travel, landscape and urban work, so you get the same kind of colour he uses on his photos.
Why should I choose Yantastic Lightroom Presets?
They are not a generic filter pack. They come out of Peter’s real workflow and colour palette, refined over a long time and a lot of images. The idea is simple: save you time, give you a clean professional look, and help you feel more confident with colour.
His work has been seen by more than a million people on Instagram and TikTok, and the presets have been tested on a wide range of real-world photos, not just studio shots.
Do the presets work on both mobile and desktop?
Yes. On your phone you use the Lightroom Mobile app (iOS or Android). On a computer you use Lightroom CC or Lightroom Classic (v7.3 or later) on Mac or Windows. You get the same look either way, so you can start a photo on your phone and finish it later on your laptop.
Do I need the paid version of Lightroom?
For mobile, no. The free Lightroom Mobile app is enough, and you can download it from the App Store or Google Play.
For desktop presets you will need an active Adobe Lightroom subscription, either CC or Classic.
Are they easy to use if I am a beginner?
Yes. Most people who buy them are beginners or enthusiasts who just want better photos without learning every slider.
You get a step-by-step visual guide and short videos that show you how to install the files and start using them. If you get stuck, email us and we will help you through it.
Will my presets expire or stop working?
No. Once you buy them, they are yours to use for as long as you like.
Keep a backup of the files so you do not lose them. Lightroom presets are for personal use, in line with the terms.
What if I lose my presets or the download link?
No stress. Email hi@ypresets.com with your order details and we will send the download again.
General
Do you ship a physical product?
No. Everything on ypresets.com is a digital download. Nothing goes in the post, so there is no shipping fee and no tracking number. Once payment goes through, you get the files by email and you can also download them from account.ypresets.com with the same email you used at checkout.
When will I get my files?
Usually straight away. Check the inbox for the email you used to pay, including spam and promotions. If it is not there after a few minutes, go to account.ypresets.com and sign in with that same email. Still nothing? Write to hi@ypresets.com with your order number and we will send the link again.
Can I use the files on more than one computer?
Yes, for you. Install them on your laptop, your desktop, your phone, whatever you edit on. The licence follows you, not a single device. What you cannot do is share the files with a friend, a second shooter, or an editor as their own copy. If someone else needs the pack, they need their own purchase.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Because these are instant digital downloads, we cannot refund an order once the files have been delivered. If you are unhappy or you are struggling to get a good result, please still write to us. We will do what we can to get you there.
