All Ypresets LUTs. Built In.

Color Lab includes looks created for supported footage from:

iPhone

Apple Log and cinematic video workflows

DJI Osmo

D-Log, D-Log M and supported camera profiles

DJI Drones

Cinematic looks created for supported DJI Log footage

And the rest of the Ypresets video LUT library.

Important: Color Lab is a separate product from our downloadable LUT packs. The Ypresets looks are available directly inside the plugin. Purchasing Color Lab does not include separate downloadable .cube files.

Choose a Look. Make It Yours.

Every LUT is a starting point.

Use Intensity to control exactly how strongly the look is applied, then refine the image with dedicated grading controls.

Adjustments
  • ExposureCorrect the overall brightness of your footage.
  • HighlightsRecover or shape brighter areas.
  • ShadowsOpen or deepen darker areas.
  • ContrastControl the overall separation between light and dark.
  • SaturationFine-tune color intensity.
  • TemperatureWarm or cool the image.
  • TintCorrect or creatively adjust green and magenta balance.

A Smarter Color Pipeline

Color Lab doesn't simply stack adjustments randomly.

Exposure, Temperature and Tint are processed before the LUT, allowing you to correct the source footage before the creative color transformation.

The LUT is then applied.

Highlights, Shadows, Contrast and Saturation are processed afterwards, giving you precise control over the finished look.

Film effects are applied later in the pipeline for a natural final result.

That means your adjustments behave more like a proper grading workflow rather than simple filters placed on top of each other.

Film-Inspired Effects Built In

Film Grain

Add organic texture directly inside the plugin.

Color Lab generates grain live rather than using a static video overlay. The grain changes naturally from frame to frame and automatically adapts to your footage resolution.

Control

  • Grain Amount
  • Grain Size

From subtle texture to a noticeably analog finish.

Halation

Create the warm red-orange glow associated with bright highlights on film.

Halation is generated from the bright areas of your actual image rather than using a generic overlay.

Control

  • Halation Amount
  • Halation Radius

Use it subtly for added character or push it further for a stylized film look.

Bloom

Soften and spread bright highlights for a more atmospheric, cinematic image.

Control

  • Bloom Amount
  • Bloom Radius
  • Bloom Threshold

The Threshold control lets you decide which parts of the image are bright enough to generate bloom, giving you much more control than a simple glow effect.

Vignette

Guide attention towards your subject or subtly shape the edges of the frame.

Control

  • Vignette Amount
  • Vignette Size
  • Vignette Feather

Keep it almost invisible or create a much stronger stylized effect.

Create Cinematic Borders

Add borders directly inside Color Lab without creating additional nodes, generators or adjustment layers.

Independently control
  • Top / Bottom
  • Left / Right
  • Border Color

Create cinematic letterboxing, custom aspect-ratio styling or colored borders directly inside your grade.

See the Difference Instantly

Before / After

Toggle your complete Color Lab grade on and off instantly to see how far you've taken the original footage.

Split Screen

Compare the original and graded image side by side without leaving the plugin.

These tools make it much easier to judge whether your grade is actually improving the shot rather than simply becoming more intense.

Save Your Own Looks

Build it once. Use it again.

Save the entire setup with My Looks.

Color Lab remembers your complete grade, including:

  • Tint
  • Film Grain
  • Halation
  • Bloom
  • Vignette
  • Borders

Name your look, save it and recall it later on another clip or project.

You can also rename or delete saved looks directly inside the plugin.

Works the Way Resolve Works

Color Lab behaves like a normal DaVinci Resolve effect, so you're not locked into a special workflow.

Use it on a single clip or take advantage of Resolve's existing tools to grade multiple clips.

You can
  • Copy your Color Lab grade to selected clips
  • Apply it through Group nodes
  • Use it on a Timeline node
  • Apply it to an Adjustment Clip
  • Save frequently used grades with My Looks

You remain completely inside the normal DaVinci Resolve workflow.

FAQ

What is Ypresets Color Lab?

Ypresets Color Lab is a color grading plugin for DaVinci Resolve that combines the complete Ypresets video LUT library with color adjustments, film-inspired effects, cinematic borders, comparison tools and custom saved looks. It is designed to make creating and refining cinematic color faster without replacing DaVinci Resolve's advanced grading tools.

Is Color Lab just a LUT pack?

No. Color Lab is a dedicated DaVinci Resolve plugin. In addition to the Ypresets LUT library, it includes LUT intensity control, color adjustments, Film Grain, Halation, Bloom, Vignette, cinematic Borders, Before / After comparison, Split Screen and custom saved looks.

Are all Ypresets LUTs included?

The complete Ypresets video LUT library is accessible directly inside Color Lab. Color Lab is a separate product from the standalone downloadable Ypresets LUT packs.

Do I receive the .cube LUT files with Color Lab?

No. The included Ypresets looks are designed to be used directly inside Color Lab. Purchasing Color Lab does not include the standalone downloadable .cube LUT packs.

Does Color Lab work with DaVinci Resolve Free?

Yes. Color Lab works with both DaVinci Resolve Free and DaVinci Resolve Studio, version 20 or later.

Does Color Lab work on Mac and Windows?

Yes. Color Lab supports both macOS and Windows. On Mac, it supports Apple silicon M1 and later as well as Intel Macs. On Windows, it supports 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11.

How do I install Color Lab?

Download and run the installer for your operating system, then restart DaVinci Resolve. Color Lab will then appear inside Resolve. You can begin your trial or enter your license key to activate the full version.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Download the full plugin free. It adds a watermark until you activate a license key.

Is Color Lab a subscription?

No. Color Lab is a one-time purchase with no recurring subscription.

How many computers can I use?

A Color Lab license can be activated on up to 2 computers. Once activated, it works offline.

Are updates included?

Yes. Your Color Lab license includes future plugin updates at no additional cost.

Can I adjust the strength of a LUT?

Yes. Every LUT can be adjusted using the Intensity control, allowing you to make the look more subtle or more pronounced.

Why are some adjustments applied before the LUT?

Exposure, Temperature and Tint are processed before the LUT so that you're correcting the footage before applying the creative transformation. Contrast, Highlights, Shadows and Saturation are then applied afterwards for final refinement. This gives Color Lab a more natural grading workflow.

Is the Film Grain a video overlay?

No. Film Grain is generated live inside Color Lab. It changes from frame to frame and automatically scales with your footage resolution.

What is Halation?

Halation creates a warm red-orange glow around brighter areas of the image, inspired by the behavior of traditional film. Color Lab generates this effect from the highlights in your actual footage.

What is Bloom?

Bloom creates a soft glow around brighter parts of the image. Color Lab gives you independent controls for Bloom Amount, Radius and Threshold, allowing you to decide both the strength and which highlights produce the effect.

Can I add cinematic black bars?

Yes. Color Lab includes adjustable horizontal and vertical borders. You can independently control the Top / Bottom and Left / Right border size and choose the border color.

Can I save my own grades?

Yes. My Looks saves your complete Color Lab setup, including the selected LUT, intensity, color adjustments, effects and border settings. Saved looks can be renamed, recalled or deleted directly inside the plugin.

Can I apply Color Lab to multiple clips?

Yes. Because Color Lab works like a normal Resolve effect, you can use DaVinci Resolve's normal workflow to apply it across multiple clips. You can copy grades, use Group or Timeline nodes, or apply Color Lab to an Adjustment Clip.

Does Color Lab replace the DaVinci Resolve Color page?

No. Color Lab is designed to make common creative grading tasks faster. You can create a complete grade entirely within Color Lab or use it as the starting point for a more advanced Resolve grade.

Will Color Lab fix badly exposed Log footage?

Color Lab includes exposure and tonal controls, but no plugin can recover image information that wasn't captured. For the best results, particularly when shooting Log, footage should still be exposed correctly during recording.
