DJI D-Log M Forbidden City clip, graded in DaVinci Resolve vs flat D-Log M split

How to Color Grade DJI D-Log M in DaVinci Resolve (Osmo Pocket 3, Action & Drones)

To grade DJI D-Log M in DaVinci Resolve, either apply DJI's free D-Log M to Rec.709 LUT for your exact camera (from dji.com/lut) and then grade on top, or use a plugin with looks made for D-Log M. Ypresets Color Lab has dedicated Osmo D-Log M and Drone D-Log M packs: pick the pack, pick a look and adjust a few sliders on one node, in DaVinci Resolve 20 or later, Free and Studio, on Mac and Windows. Don't use Resolve's DJI D-Log setting for D-Log M footage. They are different profiles.

You shouldn't have to become a colorist just because you shot Log. This guide covers the free route and the plugin route for Osmo Pocket 3, Osmo Action, Osmo Nano, Osmo 360 and DJI drones. We make Color Lab, so we say where it fits and where the free option is enough. Checked October 23, 2026.

Which D-Log M LUT or pack do I need?

Match the LUT to the camera and the profile you actually recorded. You can check the color mode in the camera settings.

Camera and profile Free DJI LUT (dji.com/lut) Color Lab pack
Osmo Pocket 3, D-Log M Osmo Pocket 3 D-Log M to Rec.709 Osmo D-Log M
Osmo Action 4, Action 5 Pro, Action 6, Osmo Nano, Osmo 360, D-Log M The D-Log M to Rec.709 LUT listed for that model Osmo D-Log M
Osmo Pocket 4, D-Log Osmo Pocket 4 D-Log to Rec.709 Osmo D-Log
Osmo Pocket 4P, D-Log 2 Osmo Pocket 4P D-Log2 to Rec.709 Osmo D-Log 2
DJI drones in D-Log M (for example Mini 4 Pro, Mini 5 Pro, Air 3, Air 3S, Avata 2) The D-Log M to Rec.709 LUT listed for that drone Drone D-Log M
DJI drones in D-Log (for example Mavic 3 series, Mavic 4 Pro) The D-Log to Rec.709 LUT listed for that drone Drone D-Log

DJI publishes a separate LUT for each camera, so download the one with your model's name rather than a generic D-Log M LUT.

The free route: DJI's D-Log M LUT in DaVinci Resolve

  1. Download the D-Log M to Rec.709 LUT for your camera from dji.com/lut and unzip it.
  2. In Resolve, open Project Settings (the gear icon, bottom right), go to Color Management, Lookup Tables, click Open LUT Folder and copy the .cube file in. Click Update Lists.
  3. On the Color page, use the first node to fix exposure and white balance.
  4. Add a second node and apply the DJI LUT from the LUTs browser, or right-click the node and choose it from the LUT menu.
  5. Add more nodes after the LUT for contrast, saturation and your look. To soften a LUT, lower that node's Key Output Gain.

This gives you a correct, neutral Rec.709 image. It doesn't give you a cinematic look. That part is still up to you.

Don't use the DJI D-Log Color Space Transform on D-Log M. D-Log and D-Log M are different profiles. If you pick DJI D-Log as the input gamma for D-Log M clips, contrast and color come out wrong. Use the D-Log M LUT for your camera instead.

The plugin route: D-Log M in Color Lab

If you'd rather start from a finished look than build one, Color Lab puts every Ypresets video look inside DaVinci Resolve as one OpenFX effect.

  1. Install Color Lab (Mac or Windows) and restart Resolve.
  2. On the Color page, drag Ypresets Color Lab from the Effects panel's OpenFX section onto a node.
  3. Choose the pack that matches your footage: Osmo D-Log M for Osmo Pocket 3, Action, Nano or 360 in D-Log M, or Drone D-Log M for DJI drones in D-Log M.
  4. Step through the looks with Previous and Next, then set Intensity.
  5. Fine-tune Exposure, Temperature, Tint, Contrast or Saturation if the shot needs it. Add Film Grain, Halation, Bloom or Borders, and save the grade to My Looks for your next video.

Don't put a DJI LUT or Color Space Transform in front of Color Lab. The Osmo and Drone looks already include the conversion from D-Log M.

  • Price: $89 USD, one-time, with free updates, active on 2 computers at a time.
  • Free trial: the full plugin, every look and control, with a watermark until you buy a license.

Which route should you pick?

  • You enjoy grading, or you only need a neutral image: DJI's free LUT, then your own nodes.
  • You want a finished, cinematic look in a few clicks inside Resolve: Color Lab. Try it free first and keep it only if it saves you time.
  • You edit outside Resolve (Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, CapCut desktop, LumaFusion): Color Lab won't run there. Use a .cube pack such as Osmo Cinematic LUTs or Drone Cinematic LUTs. Setup steps are in the LUT installation guide.
  • You want to recreate specific film stocks: a film emulation plugin is a better fit. See our cinematic look plugin guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best D-Log M LUT for DaVinci Resolve?

For a plain conversion, use DJI's free official D-Log M to Rec.709 LUT for your exact camera, from dji.com/lut. It gives a correct, neutral image that you then grade yourself. For a finished cinematic look instead of a neutral conversion, Ypresets Color Lab has dedicated Osmo D-Log M and Drone D-Log M packs inside DaVinci Resolve, with a free watermarked trial.

Is there a DaVinci Resolve plugin for Osmo Pocket 3 D-Log M?

Yes. Ypresets Color Lab is an OpenFX plugin for DaVinci Resolve 20 or later, Free and Studio, on Mac and Windows. Choose the Osmo D-Log M pack for Osmo Pocket 3 and other D-Log M Osmo cameras (Osmo Action, Osmo Nano, Osmo 360), pick a look, set Intensity and adjust a few sliders on one node. The free trial is the full plugin with a watermark. A license is $89 USD, one-time.

Can I use the DJI D-Log Color Space Transform for D-Log M footage?

No. D-Log and D-Log M are different DJI profiles, so choosing DJI D-Log in a Color Space Transform for D-Log M clips gives the wrong contrast and color. Use the D-Log M to Rec.709 LUT DJI publishes for your camera, or a plugin pack made for D-Log M.

Do I need DaVinci Resolve Studio to grade D-Log M?

No. DJI's .cube LUTs work in the free version of DaVinci Resolve, and so does Ypresets Color Lab. Color Lab's Auto Balance button is confirmed in Resolve Studio so far, so in Resolve Free you set exposure and white balance with the sliders.

Should I add the DJI LUT before Color Lab?

No. Color Lab's Osmo and Drone looks already include the conversion from D-Log M, so put Color Lab on a node by itself, without a DJI LUT or Color Space Transform in front of it.
