Color Lab plugin for DaVinci Resolve adjustment controls on a cinematic Louvre pyramid shot

Cinematic Look Plugin for DaVinci Resolve (iPhone Apple Log & Osmo)

Looking for a cinematic look plugin for DaVinci Resolve? If you shoot iPhone Apple Log or DJI Osmo / drone Log footage and want a finished look without learning to grade first, Ypresets Color Lab is built for that: pick the pack for your camera, pick a look and adjust a few sliders, in DaVinci Resolve 20 or later, Free and Studio. If you want to recreate specific film stocks, a film emulation plugin such as Dehancer or FilmConvert is the better fit. If you don't want to spend anything yet, Resolve's own Color Space Transform or a conversion LUT is free.

You shouldn't have to become a colorist just because you shot Log. We make Color Lab, so this guide says where it fits and where another option is better. Features change, so check each product page before you buy. Rechecked October 21, 2026.

What is a cinematic look plugin for DaVinci Resolve?

A cinematic look plugin is an OpenFX effect you drop on a Color page node. Instead of building contrast, color and film-style finishing by hand, you start from a finished look and tweak it. Some plugins emulate film stocks. Others apply camera-matched creative looks with intensity, corrections and effects on one node.

Color Lab is the second kind: every Ypresets video look is built in, with Intensity, exposure and white balance, contrast and saturation, Film Grain, Halation, Bloom, Vignette, Borders, Before / After and My Looks.

Best color grading plugin for iPhone and Osmo footage?

"Best" depends on the job. For a finished cinematic look on iPhone Apple Log, standard iPhone video, Osmo Pocket D-Log M / D-Log / D-Log 2 or DJI drone D-Log / D-Log M, Color Lab is the pick we make for Resolve Free and Studio. For measured film stocks and deep film-emulation controls, Dehancer or FilmConvert Nitrate are built for that. For zero cost, start with Resolve's Color Space Transform or a camera conversion LUT.

A longer beginner comparison covers Color Lab, Resolve's free tools, FilmConvert, Dehancer and spektrafilm: best DaVinci Resolve color grading plugins for beginners. A fair Dehancer / FilmConvert / Color Lab breakdown is here: Dehancer vs FilmConvert vs Color Lab.

Osmo Pocket D-Log M DaVinci Resolve plugin

Yes — Color Lab has a dedicated Osmo D-Log M pack for Osmo Pocket 3 and other D-Log M Osmo cameras (Action, Nano, 360). Use Osmo D-Log for Pocket 4 D-Log, and Osmo D-Log 2 for Pocket 4P D-Log 2. Drone footage uses the separate Drone D-Log or Drone D-Log M pack.

You do not need a plugin to convert D-Log M. DJI publishes free official D-Log M to Rec.709 .cube LUTs. A plugin helps when you want the conversion, a creative look, intensity and film effects in one effect instead of a LUT node plus a grade.

How to color grade iPhone footage in DaVinci Resolve

  1. Open the clip on the Color page.
  2. Drag Ypresets Color Lab from Effects → OpenFX → Ypresets onto a node.
  3. Choose iPhone Apple Log for Apple Log or Apple Log 2, or iPhone Cinematic for normal (non-Log) iPhone video.
  4. Pick a look, set Intensity, then nudge Exposure and Temperature if the shot needs it.
  5. Optional: Film Grain, Halation, Bloom or Borders. Save the grade to My Looks.

Do not add a Color Space Transform or conversion LUT before Color Lab. The looks already include the conversion. Without a plugin, use a Color Space Transform (Apple Log → Rec.709) or a conversion LUT, then grade on the next node.
